Joyous Imbolc and Happy Bewitching Blog Part

To all who came by way of The Witch of Howling Creek I am so happy you stopped by.  As others have found it is a lovely walk down the path, through the Woods of Wonder by the Mountains of Imagination.  Can you hear Giggles Creek just behind the Cottage? Come on in and sit a spell.

Every day at the Cottage there is something new but each day is one focus.  I have put a favourite sample below each -

Music Monday - these are always story telling types of songs

Tuesday Tarot - This week is the Chariot

Wednesday is Cottage Tales - usually they are approx. 5 minutes each week but this link is a little longer as it is called How the Witchy Godmother Came to Be.  A fiction story of how I got to the Cottage with little dots of truth.

Thursday is photography, mostly around Canada's capital city but sometimes places we have visited.  Here is a special fall visit.

Website Fridays focus on websites that I have found both interesting or for shopping, another fun thing.

Saturday Inspiration - Usually a simple picture, this week well... it is a party after all.  There are no posts on Sunday as I do all the filming and editing of the coming seek entries as well as I post the notes of the week on the Witchy Godmother's Facebook Page.  As you can see at the top there are special pages too, the About Me page which I update when new things happen at the Cottage, a page just for the Websites that are featured, a page for the Scatter Sparkles Project and for just a bit of swag fun the link to the Witchy Godmother CafePress shop.

Now that you know what we do here at the Cottage and how much fun we have everyday here is a little craft idea for you. I found this several places on the web and in craft magazines over the years and with how much I love sparkles I just had to share it here.

A Sparkles Jar

Items needed
1 jar you can close tight.  It can be a mason jar or something even more lovely.
Craft glitter (this is a 32 oz jar so ingredients should be adjusted) 3 pouches - about 1/2 tbsp each
Glitter glue - 1.8 oz (probably about a full bottle for each jar)
Hot Water

Put all your stuff out before you start after all you don't want someone like Rufus getting into stuff when you have to dash off and find something.

Boil the water (what is meant by hot water, not just tap hot water), this is needed to break down the glitter glue.  Add the water to the jar filling up to near top, leaving enough room to add the glue and the glitter.  Add the glitter and then the glitter glue.  Use a long fork and stir vigorously.  This is very important to stir it well.  Seal it very tight because you don't want the lid to fly off when you shake it.  Once you are sure it is closed really tight.  Shake it and watch the glitter float down slowly.  Very meditative and calming for both kids and adults.

Enjoy!  Thank you again for dropping by from the Bewitching Blog Party

Lastly for Saturday Inspiration a pictured shared by another on-line friend, Fire Lyte.

Hugs and Sparkles

  3. I am so glad I found you! Of course I flew over from the Bewitching Home Blog Party. I have a 3 year old who clearly will so love story time and all the other goodies (of course her mama will too) I made Little a sparkle jar we call it her calm down jar. We made hers out of a plastic peanuet butter jar though so it wont brake and hot glued that top on!

Anyway, thankfully I saw you on another blog today, so here I am again, hurray! I love the sparkle jar, how simple yet very lovely. I have missed your Capitol Walks, always enjoyed those.
